Mountain
Leader:
The ML course is ideal
for those who want to be qualified to lead a group of hillwalkers anywhere
in the British Isles under summer conditions. Skills cover: Navigation, campcraft, group management, security on steep ground, weather, emergency
procedures and access/conservation. An excellent practical course to improve
abilities and increase self confidence. There will be an overnight camp
and night navigation exercise
WGL
Award:
The
Walking Group Leader is a new award started in 2001. It is ideal for those
intending to lead groups in walled and fenced countryside and moorland
such as Dartmoor, The Derbyshire Peaks and the Yorkshire Dales. The award is designed
for a variety of leaders and teachers involved in taking groups into this
type of terrain. The award covers skills, leadership and group management
needed for leading novice groups on easy hills, countryside and moorland.
An excellent practical course and stepping-stone towards the Mountain

SPA (Single Pitch Award):
The SPA award provides candidates with the skills needed to
supervise groups of novice climbers on single pitch crags both in and
out doors. Ideal for anyone involved with outdoor activities, centres, schools and
youth groups.
