Training Methods:
We use various training methods to ensure that we give participants new experiences and bring the best out of them. We build individual strengths and increase awareness of the different approaches and working styles within the team. Most importantly, our de-brief and review sessions help the team draw the greatest value from their experiences.
We have comfortable meeting room facilities at the Centre. The vast majority of the programme takes place in "The Great Outdoors" using Dartmoor National Park, the South Devon coastline or a venue of your choice.
Whilst the activities are primarily out of doors, the challenges are all about working as a team and are not a test of physical stamina or fitness.
Benefits of using the outdoors for training:
Teambuilding and leadership courses have a wide range of benefits both to individuals and organisations. Participants have the opportunity to develop team spirit, expand upon relationships and improve the understanding of effective teamwork. The opportunity of a new learning environment is fully exploited through new physical experiences, places, relationships, challenges, responsibilities and roles. The identification of strengths and weaknesses, as well as overcoming problems in stressful situations is also a valuable lesson. Participants leave us with a new outlook towards their role, colleagues and environment.
Challenges:
Personal challenges are totally different to life challenges, but the requirements to plan, make decisions and turn those decisions into action are still the same. This tends to increase the process of involvement and enhances the experience of planning and decision making at all levels.
Applications:
The trainer, course leader or manager concerned can apply the information produced from the course to structure future training programmes.
