Coaching Courses       2007/2008 Course Fixtures

Throughout the autumn, winter and spring of each year MWE offer the ideal location for white water trips into the the fanstatic Devonshire countryside. With rivers from class 1 to 4, some of the best coaching spots in the country, surfing beaches on the doorstep and a warm and friendly welcome at the centre. Whether with a group or by yourself MWE has it all for that paddling experience to remember.

White Water coaching courses
From October to March, MWE coaches have some of the best white water rivers in the UK at their disposal to offer coaching sessions and courses for paddlers of all abilities.

White Water Introduction
During this two day course you will be coached in the art of running grade 1 and 2 river sections. A few of the subjects covered are equipment, river safety, paddling and stroke techniques and reading the water. By the end of the two days you will be able to take part in river trips in the confidence that you will have all of the skills necessary to complete the run.

White Water Intermediate / Improver
We will discuss your individual needs and then ensure that we concentrate on your specific coaching needs. This is the ideal opportunity to have a critical eye passed over you and the way forward, by means of sound coaching pointers, shown to you.

Advanced White Water
A weekend designed to advance personal skills and leadership experience on advanced sections of a white water river. Requirements: competent grade III / IV paddler.

4 Star Training & Assessment
This course is run to the BCU standard and is there so that those of you wishing to achieve an award in white water can. The award ensures that you have the necessary experience and are proficient to undertake a grade 2 river trip as a member of a group.
